DIY Rainbow Pumpkin Bagels

Hear me out, okay? I’m pretty sure I just made the cutest bagels of all time. They’re absolutely perfect for the fall season. Do you want to make your own? Follow along with my recipe below. Ingredients:

  • 2 cups milk
  • 4 tsp. instant yeast
  • 6 Tbsp. brown sugar
  • 4 Tbsp. butter, melted
  • 2 tsp. salt
  • 4-4½ cups AP flour (start with 4, add more if needed)
  • Food color
  • Cinnamon sticks for the stems

Instructions:

Step 1: Heat the milk to 110° F. Remove from heat & stir in the yeast. Let sit for 5 minutes.

Step 2: Add sugar, salt, and butter to the bowl. 

Step 3: Add milk mixture to the bowl. Add in 4 cups of flour and mix until the dough begins to pull away from the sides of the bowl. Add more flour if needed 1/4 cup at a time. Knead for 4-5 minutes until dough is smooth and isn’t sticking to the sides of the bowl. 

Step 4: Mix food coloring into dough.

Step 5: Mix small amounts of colored dough together & cover. Let rise 1 hour.

Step 6: Shape dough into 1” balls and arrange 5 balls together to make a pumpkin. Add a cinnamon stick to the middle. Let rise 20 minutes more. 

Step 7: Bake at 375° F until golden, about 15-18 minutes. Remove & let cool.

Serve up a batch at your fall-themed party, or delight your family with an unexpected weekend breakfast.
