As always, these plates can easily be customized to your own preferences. Maybe just a light gradient spray of pink for a more ombre effect is what you would prefer? Or shades of blue only? Even a black and white mist would look amazing! So, take this technique and run with it.
- Clear glass plates (I found these square ones at World Market, but here is a set on Amazon that includes bowls!)
- Matte Spray paint in your choice of colors (I used Montana Gold brand for their color options)
Yep, that’s it. Just two things. Easy right?
Begin by removing any stickers you have on your plates and cleaning and drying them. Then take them outside on a piece of cardboard and turn them upside down. Hold your spray paint can at an angle a few inches from the ground and spray the paint across the surface of the plate. Repeat this several times with different colors at different corners of the plate. This technique will give you a good gradient spray plus a few splatter drops as you can see below.
One tip, start with the most saturated color first (like blue in my case) so that the splatter doesn’t get muted by the other colors. Once the plates are dry, leave them to cure for 24 hours. Then they are ready to use. These plates can also be washed in the dishwasher, just don’t use the heat dry setting!
Now tell me these are not the best way to eat every meal. And, if you are just too worried you can’t make your own look this good, or you don’t want to buy all the supplies, you can buy them all ready made in my etsy shop and I will make them for you! Sweet!
