It’s Friday afternoon before a three day weekend, so I am going to make this one quick! I literally just had the idea to create a few Blendo pumpkins inspired by my favorite glass ware from the 50’s and 60’s, and I just happened to have a few white pumpkins from my trip to the pumpkin patch last weekend, so that was all the convincing I needed to try out my idea. And OMG! They are SOOOO cute!!!
Supplies:
- Montanta gold or 94 spray paint in a few colors (or if you use regular spray paint, just make sure it is matte)
- White pumpkins (real or faux)
Begin by turning your pumpkins upside down, for real pumpkins you may want to gently sand the pumpkin skin to roughen it up just a bit. Not so much that you will expose the flesh, just enough to give it texture for the paint to stick to. Then spray paint the bottom of the pumpkins with a full coat of spray paint while letting the overspray blend down towards the top of the pumpkin.
If you need a little extra blending up, gently pick up the pumpkin and spray the bottom sides about 12-15″ away from the pumpkin in a sweeping motion so that you get just a hint of overspray up the sides. Let dry and your pumpkins are done!
As an optional touch, you can use a little gold craft paint to paint the stems for that extra shine!
Now how’s that for a quick and simple weekend project?!
