In addition to our advent activity crafts, I have also made a couple other crafts to help decorate the house. I already told you all about our mason jar faux snow globes, and today I am going to show you how I made this cute JOY sign for the wall.
I started with those cardboard/chip board letters from the craft store (both joann and hobby lobby have them), spray paint, and some glittery foam vase filler from hobby lobby.
I was planning on using both red and white balls, but ended up sticking with just the white. Next I cut open the letters and pulled out the cardboard insert so that there was an open space in each.
Next I spray painted the letters with red glass paint and then used a glue gun to glue in all the little white foam balls. These three letters took only one package of filler beads which I got for $3.50 (50% off of 6.99).
When I finished I used a strong wall tape (like command strips) to adhere the letters to my Christmas gallery wall.
I am very pleased with how they turned out. And despite a glue gun burn to my finger, they were relatively painless to make!
Now I want to go buy more letters to spell out other things like NOEL or MERRY and fill them with little Christmas bows or teeny ornaments. Have you all been working on any holiday crafts?
