I love simple DIY projects with big impact don’t you? Even better if they include confetti and color! I ran to IKEA to pick up a few items, and of course had to peruse the store a bit to see if anything jumped out at me while I was there. I found these long stemed coupe glasses for $2.99 each and knew that they were just perfect for a DIY makeover. So I grabbed few, not knowing exactly what I wanted to do with them. Cut to being in my office and realizing that they would look freaking adorable with a confetti vinyl treatment. And OMG did they ever! All it took was a little bit of scrap adhesive vinyl and some fine detail cutting to get the cutest DIY confetti coupe cocktail glasses ever! Now who’s ready for a spring cocktail out on the patio?
Are they not just the best thing to ever happen to rosé since frosé?!
Materials to make your own DIY Confetti Coupe Cocktail Glasses:
- Glass Coupes (these are from IKEA, but here’s an Amazon option)
- Permanent adhesive vinyl (any brand works, just look for the colors you love!)
- Scissors
Begin by cutting out the vinyl with your scissors into tiny little confetti bits. I like to cut the vinyl into asymmetrical, wavy edged ovals to give them the perfect confetti look.
Once you have your vinyl pieces cut in various sizes, peel off the backing and stick them on the outside of your clean glasses to form your confetti pattern.
Repeat until you fill the cup portion of the coupe.
They sort of remind me of Lisa Frank. If Lisa Frank grew up an needed a cocktail! Since the vinyl is permanent, it will withstand handwashing for years. So, yes, no dishwasher for these guys, but I don’t mind handwashing for something this cute!
I love how you can also see the pattern through the top of glass while sipping your cocktail. Talk about happy hour!
