My daughter’s 7th birthday is rapidly approaching, so along with planning her Sci-fi themed birthday party, my husband and I have been trying to come up with a few gift ideas for her (not including the phone or iPad she keeps asking for, because that is NOT happening). In addition to Sci-fi, she loves art, crafting, and color (I’m not sure where she gets that from! Ha!).
When I found out about the new Taylor Swift inspired greeting cards from PAPYRUS, the social expressions company, I knew they would be perfect for her and her pre-tween (that’s a thing right?) tastes. This new line of cards from PAPYRUS features fun, colorful embellishments like glitter and gems and are perfect for use as wall art in addition to gift giving. Because all the designs were amazing, I picked up several to give her throughout her birthday week. I even created a few colorful DIY clipboards she can use to display the cards on her bedroom gallery wall.
- Plain mini clipboards (I found these 6″ by 9″ ones online)
- Acrylic Craft paint in various colors (I used peach, light yellow, light blue, light pink, and dark pink for my boards and gold for the clip parts)
- Paint brushes
- Optional metallic vinyl cutouts (I used my vinyl cutter to make gold polka dots for some of the clipboards)
Once all your clipboards are painted and dry, use gold acrylic paint to paint the clips (or leave them silver if that’s more your speed; I’m a gold fiend right now).
