Craft It – Fruit Photo Holders

filed under

I don’t know about you, but I have so many family photos that I have had printed from Social Print Studio (formerly known as Printstagram) just laying around. Sure I have framed a few, but the rest are just in a pile that I occasionally flip through. I am currently working on a fun wall in our playroom to utilize some of these photos, but I figured in the meantime I would whip up a few new ways to display my pics.

I definitely had summer on the brain when I made these polymer clay holders. They are the perfect way to display my summer beach pics. But I think that they would also be fun place card holders or food description holders for your next summer soiree!

To make your own you will just need some polymer clay and some green floral wire. First you will wrap the floral wire around a rolling pin or other cylindrical object to create your photo holder pieces.

After that is done, use your clay to form your different pieces of fruit. I made some cherries (just round balls), orange (again a ball with little holes poked in it), a lime (you know…lime shaped), and a watermelon slice and pineapple (both of which I assembled before baking so that the clay would stick together).

Once my fruit were all shaped, I stuck the floral wire end into them to make the hole, then removed the wire and baked them according to the package directions. Once cool, I used a dab of craft glue on the end of the floral wire and then placed them back in the holes.

All that was left was to choose which pictures to display.

Aren’t they super fun?! I can’t wait to pull these out at my next party too!
