filed under

First off, I would like to say thank you to Joann Fabric and Craft Stores for sponsoring this post and providing me with the supplies that I used to make this wreath as well as compensating me for my time and crafting abilities! I have been a loyal Joann Stores customer for 10+ years and am so excited to be working with them to create awesome crafts and ideas for you all! All ideas and opinions expressed in this post are mine alone.

A well-crafted wreath is a great way to liven up a boring front door. Like this modern floral monogram wreath. It is the
perfect way to usher in the warmer weather and is perfect for adorn your front
door all the way through the summer months.

The Supplies:

Begin by spray painting your wreath frame with the gold
Krylon spray paint on your cardboard. This will help color both your wreath
frame and cardboard (that you will use to create your monogram letter) at the
same time. Once your paint has dried, trace the inside of the wreath frame. You
will want your monogram letter to fit inside this circle to get the floating
letter effect of this wreath. You can either use a word document to blow up a
letter to the size you need (the diameter of the inner circle that you traced)
and print it out as a tiled page that you can then cut and trace onto your
cardboard, or go ahead and draw a letter free hand in the circle. Once you have
your letter drawn on the cardboard, use your utility knife to cut out the
letter.
Now that all of your supplies are ready, start by pulling
off the blooms from your silk floral stems and using the hot glue to attach a
few large blooms in the center of your letter. Continue to glue the flowers on
your cardboard base using the small flowers to fill in spots and define the
edges.

Once you have filled in your entire cardboard monogram
letter with flowers and a few pieces of greenery, poke tiny holes using a pin
or tip of your utility knife about 1/2″ in on the top and bottom corners
of your letter. Thread the fishing line through the hole and tie the line off
around the inner ring of your wreath frame. Repeat with all four holes. Now, use
floral wire or more hot glue to attach a few more pieces of greenery leaves
around the gold wreath frame. I liked the modern look of leaving the gold
painted wreath frame exposed with just three pieces of greenery. But if you
would like, feel free to cover the entire wreath frame with leaves for a more
traditional wreath look.

This modern floral monogram wreath is the perfect way to welcome
spring’s arrival. The florals from Jo-Ann fabric and craft stores look amazing
when all paired together to create this beautiful letter bouquet for your front
door. Don’t you think?
