One of the first things that pops into my head when I think of the holidays is a warm cup of hot cocoa topped with tons of itty bitty marshmallows. It’s one of my families favorite things! Well, this year I decided to put my own spin on that traditional cup of cocoa and added my signature splash of color with easy gradient marshmallows and colorful white hot cocoa.
Isn’t this just the best?! You all know I love color, so this really just elevated hot cocoa to a whole new level for me. The best part is that it is super simple to make your own colorful hot cocoa and colorful marshmallows.
The Supplies:
- Mini Marshmallows
- Food Color Mist
- Warm whole milk
- Colorful Chocolate Candy Melts
For the marshmallows:
Lay out all the marshmallows in a thin, even layer and spray bursts of several colors of food coloring mist onto the marshmallows.
Let the marshmallows sit for a few minutes to let the color dry, then mix them up for the prettiest marshmallows you ever did see.
For the hot cocoa, add about 1/4 cup of colorful chocolate candy coating to your mug, pour in warm milk and stir to create your mug of colorful cocoa.
Now add in your marshmallows and enjoy this tasty and colorful cup of holiday cheer!

Good gosh, all that artificial color isn't good for you.

Honestly there is probably no more food color in a cup of this cocoa than there is in 3-4 starbursts or a decorated sugar cookie. But, just because I am showing how to make it doesn't mean you have to make it or drink it.
