Style It – A Colorful Fall Table Setting with DIY Pumpkin Candles

This post is sponsored by Cost Plus World Market. All ideas, opinions, styling and DIY’s are my own. Thank you so much for supporting the brands that keep the DIY’s coming!

If you know me at all, you know that I am a color loving gal. Give me bright bold poppy hues any day of the week! But now that summer is coming to an end and pumpkin spice everything is on its way, the bright colors of summer tend to give way into more neutral fall decorations. I am however not one to give up my color for muted fall tones, and I don’t think you should either!
Today I want to share how you can easily transition into fall decor and entertaining without losing all the color. With the help of Cost Plus World Market and a few DIYs, I was able to set an absolutely stunning fall table complete with peachy pinks, teals, oranges, and mustard yellows. Hello fall!

Let’s start with the DIYs and then I will show you how I brought in all the colors for the perfect fall table setting. First up are these cute leaf napkins! They are surprisingly easy to fold and with World Market’s huge color selection, you can easily find the perfect colors for your table.
To begin, fold your napkin into a triangle and then again into a smaller triangle. This means that your napping will have been folded twice at this point.

Next, accordion fold the napkin starting at the longest end and iron every fold as you go. You want each fold to be about 3/4″ to 1″.

Once you have completely folded the napkin and ironed all the creases, turn the napkin over and fold the napkin in half to create the leaf shape.
Pretty easy, wasn’t it?!
Next up on the DIY list were a few pumpkin candles that can be used both for lighting during dinner and as favors for your guests.

To make your own peachy pink pumpkin candles, you will need:

  • Cost Plus World Market ceramic pumpkin ramekins
  • Soy wax flakes
  • 3″ wicks
  • Candle wax melting pot
  • Pumpkin spice fragrance oil (optional)
  • Pink spray paint
  • Gold acrylic paint
Begin by spray painting the outside of the pumpkin ramekins pink (you can also use acrylic craft paint for this step if you prefer). Once the paint is dry, use the gold paint to paint just the stem of the pumpkin.
Next, melt your soy wax flakes in the melting pot over a pot of boiling water.
Once the wax is melted, add in a few drops of your fragrance oil. In your pumpkin ramekin, add the wick and then pour in the melted wax. You may need to use a few pencils to keep the wick in place as the wax cools.
Once the wax has cooled, you can add the lid to the candle and give it as a gift to your guests, or light the candle and add it to your table as mood lighting.
Now that you are armed with a few easy DIY’s to bring in that fall feeling, let me show you how to set the table
For the centerpieces of the table, I used more pink painted pumpkin ramekins to create mini flower arrangements using flowers and stems in shades of pink, peach, yellow, orange, and green. I even went foraging in my neighborhood for the greenery stems. Just a few snips of unique looking greenery really perks up a flower arrangement.
For the table setting, I used a few of Cost Plus World Market’s entertaining essentials from my local Austin store: a woven teal runner, uniquely shaped wood chargers, peachy pink dinner plates, gold flatware, and charming gold polka dotted glasses. On the top of each place setting was a different colored leaf napkin to help tie all the colors together.
So, what are your thoughts on pink, teal, and navy for fall? I personally am obsessed with this color combo!
