Drink It – Bourbon Chai Milk Punch

It’s cocktail time! A few weeks ago I had my first chai latte and needless to say, I was instantly obsessed. Why hasn’t anyone told me how delicious they are? It probably helps that it tastes like all things fall with hints of cinnamon, anise, and cloves. Not to mention that spicy kick from the ginger and black pepper! And apparently having a cuppa in the morning isn’t enough for my new found obsession, because just the other day I had the most delicious chai gelato (OMG! So good!) and now I’m finding a way to enjoy it during cocktail hour with this bourbon chai milk punch. The warmth and vanilla notes of the bourbon blend so well with the flavorful chai that it is now my go-to fall cocktail.

Now doesn’t that just look like fall in a glass?! And it really is such a simple cocktail to put together.

Bourbon Chai Milk Punch

  • 3 parts strong brewed chai tea chilled
  • 1 part whole milk (for a creamier consistency use half and half)
  • 1 part simple syrup (for a more flavorful cocktail use chai simple syrup)
  • 1 part bourbon
Combine all ingredients in a shaker with ice and shake until well frosted and strain into a rocks glass. Top with a grating of cinnamon or a star anise pod.
