When my friends at Walmart reached out about working with their amazing fresh everyday floral bouquets, I was ecstatic! Not everyday do you have someone wanting to send you bouquets of flowers! I love fresh flowers, but usually don’t splurge for them so that I can save that money for other things. But what I love about the Walmart everyday bouquets are that not only are they a great value, but they can easily be split up to create several arrangements that can be spread all over your home. So you really only need one to fill your whole home with floral beauty! But all those arrangements means that you will need vases. Not to worry, I am going to share my super budget friendly way to make your own ombré flower vases so that you can put a flower arrangement in every room. Or gift them to friends. It is the season of giving after all!
- Glass tumblers (Yep! Just plain modern drinking glasses.)
- Matte spray paint in your choice of colors
- Rubbing alcohol
Begin by cleaning your glasses with the rubbing alcohol and letting them dry. Then turn them upside down on a piece of scrap cardboard or tarp (you want to make sure that you are spray paining outside or in a very well ventilated space). Then simply spray paint the bottom of the glass (that is now on the top since it is upside down) and around half of the sides. Just let the overspray blend out towards the rim of the glass to create the perfect ombré effect. Let dry, then fill your glasses with water and flower food and they are ready for your mini arrangements.
I was particularly drawn to this bouquet because of the ornamental kale, but Walmart had so many different color schemes and bouquet options to choose from it really was a tough decision!
I divided the flowers up by size, shape, and color to create 4 unique but still cohesive arrangements. Then I scattered them around my house in the kitchen, living room, bathroom, and bedroom. So no matter where I am, I get to see the gorgeous blooms.
And as I mentioned, these also make perfect gifts. For under $20 you can make the vases and get a bouquet. That’s only $5 per gift! Woohoo!

How would you keep the paint from scratching or chipping off?

The spray paint adheres to the glass really well and hasn’t chipped on any of the ones I have made.
