This year I am hosting our family holiday dinner, and I’m so excited to break out the rainbow everything. Because that’s how we do holidays in the Kailo Chic house! This DIY rainbow gift box table runner is definitely going to make an appearance. It’s such a simple project but is perfect for a cookie decorating party, a fun holiday brunch with the girls, or even Christmas dinner.

All you need are small paper mache boxes and acrylic craft paint in a rainbow of colors. I found boxes with lids and just removed the lids and turned them upside down to create double the amount of gift boxes.

Materials for DIY Rainbow Gift Box Table Runner:

– Acrylic Craft paint

– Paper mache mini gift boxes in various sizes

– Paint brushes

– Gold cording or colorful ribbon

Unfortunately I spaced on taking any process photos, but the steps are very straight forward. Just give your boxes a nice even coat of paint (2 coats may be needed for some colors) and let dry. Then tie ribbons around a few boxes and line them all up down the center of your table in rainbow order. Easy!

The only thing to note is that you want a variety of sizes for each color, so don’t paint all the large boxes the same color or your runner will be unbalanced.
