The process is really quite simple if you have a Glowforge to cut out your shape. If you dont’ have a Glowforge, you can always try using a scroll saw to make one. Or you can purchase a pre-cut one here in my shop.

Materials to make your own DIY Monstera Leaf Cheese Board

Begin by uploading your template to the Glowforge app. Then select proof grade cut for 1/4″ MDF or plywood. Next, cut out your leaf shape from the wood.

Once cut, it is time to mix up your milk paint. The paint comes as a powder and you simply add water to it to make a paint consistency. For this leaf I used spearmint with a tiny bit of lily pad to get the perfect green color. Once the paint is mixed. Simply paint on your wood surface and let dry. You may need to do a second coat once the first coat is dry. Feel free to paint the other side of the leaf as well.

Once the second coat is dry, use a paper towel to rub the surface with the mineral oil. Let sit overnight and then rub down with a second coat. This will protect your wood surface from all the food you serve on it. Repeat with the backside of the cheese board.
