It is finally that time of the year! The time when it isn’t completely out of line for me to start crafting for Halloween. I figure if the stores have Halloween decorations out, then I am fully okay to start sharing all my fun and colorful Halloween crafts! Of course I have to start of the crafting with DIY pumpkins. These DIY no carve color blocked pumpkins can be used for colorful fall, Halloween, or Thanksgiving decorations. Of course I went with my favorite bright color palette, but feel free to do these in more muted tones line mustard and cream, terra cotta and beige, or forrest green and sage. However you paint them, one thing is for sure, they will be a stand out among your home decor!
See how pretty the coordinating colors are together? And mix in that little pop of gold and pattern and you have the prettiest pumpkins on the block.
Materials to make your own DIY No Carve Color Blocked Pumpkins:
- Faux pumpkins (or real if you prefer)
- Acrylic craft paint
- Gold paint pen
- Paint brushes
For these pumpkins, simply choose your two coordinating colors and paint the pumpkins half and half these colors. I just eyeballed the middle line for my pumpkins, but feel free to tape off the middle of the pumpkin for the first color and then once the paint is dry, remove the tape and paint the other half of the pumpkin.
Once your pumpkins are painted, feel free to leave as is, or do like I did and add in some gold detailing.
Using the gold paint pen, paint the stems gold, then add a few lines, dots, squiggles, and zig zags on a portion of the pumpkin.
I just love that pop of gold, don’t you?! But the color blocked pumpkins do look cute with or without the gold pattern detailing.
Of course I am also partial to all the bright colors, but what colors would you use on yours? Black and white? Or something else?
