Are you even enjoying the holidays to the fullest if you aren’t drinking a cup of hot cocoa? It is the perfect warm, cozy, and sweet treat to enjoy while looking at Christmas lights, decorating the Christmas tree, or decorating cookies and gingerbread houses. I like my cocoa to have a little adult kick, so I have partnered with Master of Mixes to share my recipe for fancy souped up cup of cocoa.
This cocoa starts with the standard hot cocoa base, but I give it a little extra somethin’ somethin’ with a shot of Master of Mixes Espresso Mixer and a shot of vanilla vodka. Can you say yum! Coffee and cocoa with a boozy twist? Sign me up!
So the recipe really is as simple as this:
8 ounces of hot cocoa (mix works great, I like to use whole milk with mine, but a scratch version works too!)
1 shot of Master of Mixes Espresso Mixer
1 shot of Vanilla vodka of your choice
Stir and garnish with pink marshmallows (just spray mini marshmallows with food color spray and toss), mini candy canes, and a few sprinkles for good measure!
Now if that isn’t holiday cheer in a cup I don’t know what is!
And how fun are these serving bowls for all the additions. I made them by simply using a two part epoxy to attach an upside down mini bowl to a larger upright bowl and repeated the process for the green bowls but added an extra mini bowl on bottom to give the serving pieces a little extra height variation. Such a simple way to spruce up a hot cocoa bar!
