If you’re a crafting supplies hoarder like I am, then you’ll know that amazing feeling when you get to use an item you have lying around in a totally new way. That’s why I was so excited when I realized the disco hearts I used to make these Valentine’s Day coupe glasses could be turned into the cutest DIY disco shamrocks!

St. Patrick’s Day is one of those holidays that seems to come and go in a flash. But still, I like to take this window between Valentine’s Day and Easter to add a few festive touches around my home and studio. Since I’m still in my disco tile era, I decided that some sparkly green shamrocks would look amazing hanging on the wall. Keep reading to see how I made them. And watch the full DIY video here.
Supplies:
- Disco hearts
- Small piece of foam board or cardboard
- Craft knife
- Disco tiles
- Green alcohol ink
- Sponge applicator
- Hot glue gun
Instructions:
Step 1: Using your crafting knife, cut out a rectangle from stiff cardboard or foam board to use as your stem.
Step 2: Use adhesive disco tiles to cover the stem of the shamrock.
Step 3: Stain the disco hearts and stem green with alcohol ink. Let dry for about an hour.
Step 4: Use your hot glue gun to attach the hearts and the stem, making a shamrock shape.
When you’re ready to display, try hanging it with velcro picture-hanging tape.
