If you need that finishing touch for your New Year’s Eve party, I’ve got just the thing. It’s a disco ball version of my friendship bracelet garland! I took apart a disco-ball garland to use for this DIY, but you can also buy small disco balls on their own to use. I love this subtle NYE-themed nod to Swifties everywhere!
Feel free to come up with your own NYE or T. Swift inspired sayings! Here’s a link to the full DIY video.
Supplies:
- Foam core
- Letter stickers
- Disco balls in varying sizes
- String
- Doll needle
- Pliers
Instructions:
Step 1: Cut out your foam core circles. You can use a utility knife to cut them out by hand, or use a laser cutter or die-cut machine if you have one that works with foam core.
Step 2: Use the letter stickers to spell out your saying.
Step 3: Lay out the disco balls and foam-core letters in the pattern you like. Then, using your doll needle, string, and pliers, start putting together the garland.
Step 4: Once everything is strung together, hang on your mantle for a sparkly, festive look for New Year’s Eve! (Tip: Don’t include the year on the garland and you can reuse for many years to come!)
I added some silver mylar fringe as a backdrop and silver “2” and “4” balloons for the finishing touches.
