If you are anything like me, you have put off your Mother’s Day gift buying or making until the last minute. Well, lucky you, you procrastinator you! Because today I am going to share the simplest felt fringe sunglasses case that you can make for your momma this afternoon! And bonus? They require no sewing!

Just look at that sparkly fringe!

The Supplies:

• Two 8″ by 10″ sheets of thick felt in your choice of color (it doesn’t matter much for the gold fringe, but for the iridescent fringe your felt color will be the color of the iridescence, so choose wisely!)
• Therm-o-Web Hot Melt Adhesive
• 1 package of Deco Foil in Opal or gold
• Hot Glue Gun and an iron

Begin by covering one piece of felt with the hot melt adhesive sheets. You may need to cut the sheets to fit the felt. Be sure not to let any of the hot melt overhang the felt. Once placed, iron over the paper to adhere the hot melt glue to the felt.

 Once the hot melt has cooled, remove the paper backing. Then layer the deco-foil over the felt and iron over it for a few seconds. Then remove the plastic backing.

Cut your iridescent or gold felt into 2″ thick strips and then fringe cut them leaving about 1/4″ uncut at the top. Using the other sheet of felt, cut two 6″ by 3.5″ rectangles to form the glasses case.

Use the glue gun to adhere the fringed strips to the rectangular felt pieces and then glue the felt pieces together along three sides, leaving one short side open.

At this point your metallic or iridescent sunglasses case is finished, but feel free to give it a custom shape by slightly rounding off the corners.

Don’t you think your mom will just love one of these fringed sunglasses cases?! And especially if she knows you made it! Oh and since you have all those supplies, you might as well make yourself a matching one too!
