I can’t believe that Christmas is less than two weeks away! The time has seriously flown by this year! It likely has something to do with the fact that I have been working non stop pumping out the crafts, sewing bags for all the orders coming in through my Etsy shop, and styling photos for photo shoots. But, I still have so many more ideas I want to share with you in the next two weeks before I sign off for a week to celebrate the end of the year with the family, so let’s get this DIY party started.

You may have seen me mention my new found obsession with metallic splatter paint in previous posts. I have only shared one post using this technique so far, but I have several more up my sleeve. I am just trying to spread them out so you don’t get annoyed with me and all my splattery posts. These copper splatter trees are the perfect combo of color, metallic, and modern and I just love them! They are another one of those crafts that look really complicated, but are just so simple to do. Not only are they simple, but the supply list is minimal too! Just 3 supplies are all you need to make your very own modern splatter paint trees.

Now tell me you are not totally in love with these too. That copper splatter paint is giving me all the heart eyes! Follow along for the simplest tutorial ever.

• Paper Mache Cones in Various Sizes
• Spray Paint in Various Colors
• Deco Color Premium Paint Pen, Copper (or you could get gold if that is more your thing)

And that’s it! I wasn’t joking about it being easy! Now that you have all your modern copper splatter paint trees made, you can display them on your mantel, on a sideboard, or even on your shelves mixed with other holiday decor and bottle brush trees for the ultimate colorful winter wonderland.

If color isn’t your thing, these would also look super cute in white and gold. Originally I was thinking that these would make a great advent calendar too. Just tape a holiday activity or treat up inside and let your kids lift one each day to see the surprise waiting inside.

I currently have these all over my built in shelves and I love having them dispersed throughout the shelves. Although I made 24 of them, I find myself wanting to make more. Maybe next year I can fill all my shelves with these. Or at the very least the mantel!
