I think I’ve officially held off on posting about Christmas and the holidays as long as I can, so after today get ready for an onslaught of holiday activities, DIY’s, and recipes! The first of which will be one of my favorites, my first tree decorating idea of the year (yes, there will be more than one!), and I can’t wait to share it with you! But until then, let’s celebrate with a little pie in the form of felt pumpkin pie coasters. These coasters are so simple to make, but are a fun addition to your Thanksgiving table. I went with only pumpkin pie for my coasters, but feel free to use your imagination and taste buds to craft any type of pie using this same technique.
The Supplies:
- Felt in tan, light orange, and white
- Hot glue gun
- Scissors
Begin by cutting your pieces of felt into the crust, filling, and whipped cream shapes. I used up my felt scraps for this project, so I cut each piece of felt individually, but if you have a full sheet, it might be easier to just cut two circles about 1/2″ in diameter different from each other (large for the crust, smaller for the filling). Then cut into wedge shaped pie slice pieces.
Once you have all your pieces cut, use the hot glue to assemble them.
And there you have it! Dare I say they are easy as pie? Ha!
So now that we are done, tell me, what is your favorite type of pie? Mine is apple.

If I cut a big circle first (crust), how long do you recommend the diameter be? I’m planning to do this with a class of 5th graders…

Sorry I am so behind in replying to comments! I hope you figured it out. I would have said around 9″ in diameter.
