It’s no surprise that I love a good gradient. And so do you all! And after seeing how much you loved the Merry and Bright painted balloons I made for Christmas, I just had to figure out a way to translate the whole painted balloon thing for Valentine’s Day too! These DIY gradient heart balloons are the perfect pop of color for your Valentine’s or Galentine’s Day party. And I much prefer them to just plain red, don’t you?!
Materials:
–Heart shaped mylar balloons
–Zinsser 1-2-3 spray primer
-spray paint in at least three colors (I used Montana Gold spray paint because it comes in 100’s of colors)
So really, the process is simple. Just layout your deflated mylar balloon and begin with a coating of primer. Then spray paint bands of color across the balloon. You can also just spray paint the color in bursts covering portions of the balloon for a more mixed gradient effect. Once you have your color bands layered on, let the paint dry, then carefully inflate with a straw or helium. You will want to be careful when handling the balloons as the paint may peel if you are too rough with them.
Now after writing this post, I feel like maybe the addition of a few white vinyl cut letters would up the cuteness factor even more! Conversation heart gradient balloons anyone? What would your balloons say? Mine would definitely read carbs, sunshine, and rainbows. A few of my favorite things that I am majorly longing for right now! If you all try these DIY gradient heart balloons for your Galentine’s party, be sure to share them with me on social by tagging your pics with #mykailochic. Can’t wait to see what you all create!
