While today’s DIY isn’t much of a DIY, it was just too cute not to share. I really just stumbled upon the easy DIY when I was styling out tomorrow’s DIY post. But sometimes, the best ideas happen when you aren’t even planning for them! So with a few felt ball magnets and a cute mint lamp from Target, this DIY pom pom lamp was created.

Now isn’t that the cutest lamp you’ve ever seen?! The best part is the pom pom magnets are removable, so you can take them off to use on your magnet board, or use them to pin up notes on your lamp, or even rearrange them into different patterns. Fun!

I have two easy ways for you to create your own pom pom lamp. The first and easiest is to purchase my felt ball magnet sets that I have in my shop. Two sets will give you plenty of pom poms to cover a small desk lamp like this one I picked up at Target.

The second option is to make your own felt ball magnets by purchasing 1″ felt balls off Etsy and using hot glue to affix strong ceramic magnets to them and then adding them to your lamp. With this technique you can easily create a custom color scheme that is just your style. Maybe all pink on the mint lamp or black dots on a white lamp. However you choose to do it, I’m sure you pom pom lamp will be super cute!

And if you prefer, you could even just glue the felt balls directly on the lamp, but I would recommend using a E6000 or similar industrial glue for that. And of course you wouldn’t be able to reposition or use them afterwards, but it’s just as easy to do!
