- Hot glue and Glue Gun
- Parchment paper
- Multi-Surface paint and paint brush
Begin by tracing a rectangle your desired length (make sure that you measure the diameter of your sandwiches or folded napkins first) on the piece of parchment. Use your glue gun to trace around the rectangle, then zig-zag, swirl, and cross hatch throughout the middle of the rectangle. Let the glue dry and peel it off the parchment and repeat until you have as many as you need.
Once dry lay out all your hot glue rectangles on a large piece of parchment and paint with your different colors of acrylic paint. Once you have all your glue painted, remove the rectangles and place on a clean piece of parchment to fully dry. If you let the paint dry on the original parchment you will be left with excess dried paint in between the glue lines. So don’t learn that the hard way like me!
Once fully dry, you can wrap them into rings and add a touch more hot glue to the seam to join the ends together. Then it is time to add them to your napkins or around a piece of parchment or wax paper wrapped sandwiches.
You can easily switch up the colors to match your party. I can just see a huge tray of sandwiches wrapped with these colorful wraps. Or use them as napkin rings for your next sit down meal. Be sure to share your version with me on social media by using the hashtag #mykailochic. I can’t wait to see what you come up with!
