The last two weeks have been quite a bit of a roller coaster of emotions and non stop doing of things. My daughter’s birthday is on Halloween, and we are having her Star Wars birthday party this Saturday, so I have been preparing the house for the 50+ people coming in a few short days. This week has also brought a new shipment of laptop bags (you can see and buy *wink, wink* the new black and white camera laptop bag here), a few business hiccups with other companies copying my laptop bag designs and selling them at half the price, building of a new website (www.kailochic.com), a Friendsgiving party styling (coming to the blog next week), a hot cocoa bar styling, not to mention preparing and sewing product for my Holiday craft shows. So, you could say that I have been quite distracted, so please forgive my lack of post yesterday and the late post today.
That being said, I love these cute copper leaf drink stirrers I put together for my fall bar cart. I found these real copper leaves at Paper Source and knew they would be perfect for a fall craft. A little hot glue, a few plain drink stirrers, and some embroidery floss later and I have the cutest copper leaf drink stirrers. And now you can too, and I will show you how!
The Supplies:
- Copper Cassini Leaves
- Plain drink stirrers
- Hot glue
- Colored Embroidery floss
The process is literally as simple as gluing a leaf to the top of the drink stirrer and then wrapping the base of the stem and stirrer with the embroidery floss and then securing it with a tiny dab of hot glue.
I coordinated the colors with my DIY blendo glasses that I made by spraying the bottoms of regular drinking glasses with spray paint (tape off the top 1-2″ first so that your lips don’t come in contact with the spray painted surface.
I love that the leaves are all different sizes and that you can customize the colors easily too! Are you hosting Thanksgiving this year? Wouldn’t these be just perfect for your family’s drinks?
