Good morning everyone! I am so happy to report that I was able to pull off my idea for another Easter egg art piece. This time I used spray paint and leftover plastic Easter eggs to create an ombre effect piece of art.
To get this effect, I used several different shades of spray paint, along with some of the eggs in their original shades to create this ombre look. I used Rustoleum Painter’s Touch spray paint since it is meant for use on plastics, but any other brand would work well to as long as it is okay for plastic. Then I just sprayed the eggs that I needed in the different shades of pink and orange. I also spray painted a piece of backer board with some Montana Gold metallic gold spray paint for an added gold glimmer, but you could used any backing paper color or print that appeals to you.
Once everything was dry, I used my cool glue gun to attach the eggs to the cardboard backer board in the pattern I wanted. Then I attached the picture frame (sans glass of course) and there you go, 3D ombre Easter egg art.
What do you think? Would you put this up on your wall all year round? Or do they still look too much like Easter eggs? You could always go with all tops or all bottoms for a more cohesive look, but I liked the ups and downs and movement both pieces gave to the piece.
