It’s here! It is officially National Donut Day! I feel like I saved the best for last with this recipe for strawberry cheesecake donuts. Not only do they look delicious, but they taste Ah-Mazing!
To make your very own cream cheese deliciousness, you will need the following:
Strawberry Cheesecake Donuts
1 brick cream cheese softened
1 tsp vanilla extract
1/4 cup sugar
1 can of refrigerated biscuit dough
Vegetable oil for frying
Extra sugar for dusting the donuts
Crushed graham cracker pieces
Fresh sliced strawberries
You will start by making you cheesecake mixture. Using a stand mixer or hand mixer, beat the cream cheese, sugar, and vanilla until light and creamy and the sugar has dissolved. Then refrigerate until needed.
Let that stand while you prepare your donuts. The donuts are super simple to make since you are just frying canned biscuit dough. You can find more details about the donut cooking process here. But Basically cut the center out of the biscuit, and fry them one at a time at an oil temp of 375F until golden on each side. Once they are fried, dab the oil off the donut and immediately dip them in the sugar to coat them all over.
Once they have cooled a bit, spoon on the cheesecake mixture, or use a plastic bag with the tip cut off to pipe the cheesecake over the donuts. Top them with the sliced strawberries and crushed graham crackers. Just look at that creamy, fried perfection!
And yes, they taste so good, that I might (just might) have eaten all three myself. Shhhh. Don’t tell anyone!
