Decorate It – Valentine’s Day Built-in Styling

I am so excited to share my Valentine’s built-ins with you today. We took down Christmas decorations back on the 1st, but instead of filling the shelves back up with the everyday for a week or two, I went straight on into Valentine’s day decor. Yes, a little bit odd, but I am wild like that!

You will see that several of my Christmas decorations stayed in there because I figured that they really worked well for Valentine’s Day as well. The first thing to stay were my pink bottle brush trees from Target and my wrapping paper covered books. I just added a few felt heart stickers and viola! Valentine’s trees. What you have never heard of Valentine’s trees before?!

I also kept around my other hot pink tree with the fringe ornaments I made because I really love them and wasn’t ready to see them get packed away and it totally works for Valentine’s day! I just added a sequined Vday sign from the Target dollar spot and that shelf was good to go.

Above it are two of the gift boxes from the Sugar Paper LA for Target’s holiday collection. I snagged quite a few of these after Christmas for 50% off and these coral and mint with a touch of gold boxes go perfect with all my other decor. A little vase of faux orchids and some greenery and they are all fancied up and sitting pretty.

Here you can see the center of the built-in shelves (with that old ugly eye sore of a TV). On the right is my standard, haven’t moved it yet blue orb from Home Goods. For this holiday I just added a little, pink felt fox that was originally from Target but that I picked up at Goodwill along with his red friend who is on my mantel. I added a few faux cupcakes that I bought for a project a few years ago as well as some easy xoxo art in a red Ikea frame and little mail box from the Target dollar spot.

The heart banner is made from crepe paper hearts and I have a tutorial on that coming in the next week or two. So stay tuned for that!

You can also see a mint bottle brush tree that sneaked in there from a post holiday clearance sale at Target.

Other than those little details, I just kind of used random red, pink, and turquoise decor that I had to fill out the shelves. Plus a quite a few storage boxes that fit the theme.

On the other side of the built-ins is my daybed that I adorned with a few bright, colorful throw pillows from Hobby Lobby (the ones with gold accents) and Target (the pink and heart ones in the middle) and a chartreuse throw (from Home Goods).

So that is it for my front “formal” living room and built-in Valentine’s Day decor. I have to say that I am really loving the pink additions in this space and between this set-up and the styling I did for my large art pieces in the built-in look. I think that I should always keep a bit of pink accents in this room. What do you think?
