Style It – A Party Cart

filed under

Who says bar carts are just for cocktails and spirits? They make super cute party stations too. Just fill them up with desserts, drinks, and a ton of balloons and you have yourself a cute portable party. Today I will share my tips for styling the cutest party cart you ever did see complete with my DIY cake stands and wrapped vases from earlier this week.

In my opinion, the best way to begin styling a party cart is to fill the bottom with balloons, paper lanterns, honeycomb balls, and tissue paper pom poms. What says party more than those?

On the top of the party cart you will add your desserts, drinks, plates, and forks. Don’t forget a vase full of flowers too! The best way to style this is to make sure you have several levels (plates at the bottom, drinks mid level, and a tall vase of flowers up high) to draw the eye up. And cute mini honeycomb ball drink stirrers don’t hurt either!

The final step in the party cart set-up is to add a little visual interest on the wall behind the cart. Anything from tissue paper tassels, to a bunting banner, to a piece of art will work. I used poster board and gold wrapping paper to cut out a few shapes matching my cake stand and then mounted them to the wall with mounting squares.

And there you have it! One colorful styled party cart ready for some music and a bunch of friends. While I love traditional bar carts, I think I might just like a party cart better! How about you?
