A couple months ago when I was making my semi annual Ikea trip, I ran across a few of their cork trivets. I didn’t know what I would do with them then, but they were just screaming for a colorful makeover. After letting them sit for a while I finally had a simple idea that would still allow them to be used with hot pots or dishes. Today I will share with you how to craft colorful felt pom pom trivets of your very own.
Like many of my projects, these trivets are as simple as cutting and gluing. Follow along for the simple tutorial.
The Supplies:
- Cork Trivets
- Felt in various colors
- Mini Pom Pom Trim (I find mine on Etsy)
- Hot Glue
- Scissors
Begin by tracing your trivets on your felt and cutting out the circle.
Once your circles are cut out, use the hot glue to attach them to your cork. The last step is to simply glue your coordinating pom pom trim around the edge of the trivets.
And that really is it! I don’t think this project could get any easier. I loved mixing and matching the felt colors with the pom pom trim, but this part is totally up to you and your taste.
These pom pom trivets would make such a cute house warming present or hostess gift. Add in a few colorful kitchen utensils and you are good to go!
