Sorry for the lack of post yesterday. I usually find myself struggling to get back into the swing of things after a vacation. Not that a blog conference is a vacation. It’s more like a whirlwind of networking and learning tons of new things. Which makes it even more difficult to jump back into work. That paired with the fact that my sister had her baby yesterday, and well, everything kind of got thrown to the wind. But, I am back and ready to craft it up with you again!

These color blocked bathroom jars are the perfect dose of color. They started out as yet another plain IKEA product, that was easily transformed with just a bit of paint. And now they are cute and functional!

The Supplies:

• Glass Bathroom Jars
• Spray Paint
• Washi Tape or Painters tape
• Gold Paint Pen
• Plastic Wrap

Begin by using the washi or painter’s tape to tape off a triangle on each jar. This will become the window so that you can still see the contents of the jar after painting them. If you prefer though, you can skip this step and just paint the entire jar.

Once the jar is taped off, spray paint the lids and bases different colors and let dry and then remove the tape. Next cut a slit in some plastic wrap and cover the jar letting just the knob poke through the plastic wrap and spray paint the knob gold.

The final step is to use the gold paint pen to paint the edge of the lid and base. Once all the paint is dry and has had a day or two to cure, you can fill them up with cotton balls and Q-tips or whatever bathroom products you wish.

I love simple projects like this and am still always so impressed how a little bit of paint can completely transform something, whether it be a wall, a piece of furniture, or a small decor item like these jars.
