I know I have mentioned it before, but I love oversized decorations. Huge balloons? Yes please! Giant ornaments? Sign me up! I have even talked to the employees at Target about getting my hands on their giant seasonal hanging decorations that they have up above the aisles. Yes, I am that crazy person. So it’s no surprise that I went large scale with a few of my holiday decorations this year. One of which is this giant colorful snowflake backdrop. It is perfect for taking photos in front of at your holiday party, as a backdrop for your dessert table, or even as your Christmas card background.
Aren’t they just so pretty? And I seriously spent no more than $10 on the whole backdrop, so it is so affordable too!
- 4-5 colors of fadeless backdrop paper (I get mine for $0.50 per foot (I needed 4 feet of each color) at the local teacher supply shop, but you can find it by the roll online)
- Removable glue dots
- Spray paint (optional)
For my snowflake backdrop I went with yellow, dark pink, light pink, and turquoise, but I wanted another color to mix in, but wasn’t thrilled with the other primary colors they had available, so I bought some white paper too and after I cut snowflakes out of it I spray painted the white paper a pretty mint blue color.
Basically the trick is just to get the large 4′ by 4′ fadeless paper. Then you can fold the paper into sixths as shown here. And then take your scissors and cut out various shapes just like you did when you were a kid. There is seriously no way to go wrong!
Once you have all your snowflakes cut (and painted if you choose to), use removable glue dots to attach them to the wall.
I can’t even begin to tell you how much I love these snowflakes! Now who else is dying to throw a colorful winter party?!
