I love to get holiday cards from my friends and family in the mail and I try to find cute ways to display them in my home instead of just putting them on a fridge or in a drawer. Last year I created a color blocked block holder and this year, I created a snowflake holiday card holder so that I can display all the cards as they start rolling in.
Of course I could have gone with white snowflakes, but where is the fun in that?! A few wood snowflakes from the craft store and some acrylic craft paint and I was on my way to the cutest colorful snowflake display stand ever!
Materials:
- Wood snowflakes (I got mine at the craft store but here is an Amazon option)
- Acrylic craft paint
- 1/4 piece of white primed MDF cut to 24″ long
- Wood glue (or hot glue)
- Mini clothes pins
- Paint brushes
Begin by painting your snowflakes and then hot gluing the clothes pins on the back of them.
Once dry, use the wood glue (or the hot glue works too!) to glue the snowflakes onto the wood board so that they stand vertically.
Once the glue has dried (you may need to prop up the snowflakes with books while the glue dries), your snowflake card holder is ready to fill and display on your mantel or shelf.
I am so in love with how this turned out! And it really was so simple. Just a little bit of paint and glue are all you need! I am curious though, how do you display your holiday cards? And do you even send them out? I have to admit that I have never sent any out, although I love to get them! Maybe one year I will get my act together! Ha!
