This post for a pink and black mystic halloween party is sponsored by JOANN. Thank you for supporting the brands that keep the crafts coming! All ideas and opinions are my own.
Have I told you lately how much I love all the fall holidays? I am so excited when fall comes, because not only does it mean a reprieve from HOT summer temps, but it means the holidays are approaching! My love for Halloween arose after my daughter was born on the day back in 2009. Before then I handed out candy, but that was about it. But once I had a kid and a kid with a Halloween birthday non the less, I found myself looking forward to the fun themed costume parties I could throw every year. This year I partnered with JOANN to throw a pink and black mystic halloween party!
It may seem a little different from my traditional rainbow of colors, but there is something fun about Halloween and trying out all the different color combos and this black and white with just a hint of pink party palette might just be a new favorite!
I began decorating for the party by cutting out black adhesive vinyl into squiggles, triangles, and circles, you can download the .png file here. Did you know that JOANN has their own line of vinyl now?! I used my Cricut maker to cut the template into the adhesive vinyl and then used the pieces like stickers on the wall and balloon garland to set the mood.
Then I added in a few pieces of halloween art, an oil slick metallic looking spider, and crystal ball from the JOANN halloween decor section.
A Jack o’Lantern Pumpkin Planter
One fun and easy DIY project to give a little life to this party. Was a simple pink jack o’lantern planter basket. To make it I simply used acrylic craft paint in pink to paint a black halloween pumpkin candle hurricane that I found in store. Then I added in my planter and plant that I picked up from the JOANN floral department. And look how cute it is!
The going batty cake
The final touch for the party was the batty cake! I cut black fondant into bat shapes with cookie cutters and placed them on a plain white store bought cake. Then I used the neon bat from JOANN as a cake topper. So fun, right?!
Add a few plates and forks and you are ready to party! I love how easy it was to throw this party with the help of JOANN. A few items from their halloween section, and few simple DIY projects, and a touch of pink and we were ready to throw a pink and black mystic halloween party!

[…] Sorry, one more pink-and-black Halloween party because I can’t help it. I love them. Plus, I would transform my apartment into this look year-round in a heartbeat. This mystical look would be great for a ghouls night in for a little witches brew and tarot card reading. SEE IT HERE […]
