Materials for a DIY Large Modern Ornament Gallery Wall:
– DecoArt Americana acrylic craft paint (I used cotton candy, peacock teal, and coral blush for my large ornaments. I used carousel pink, primary yellow, citron green, and sea breeze for the small.)
– Large unfinished wood ornaments (I cut mine using my GlowForge, but you can also buy them here)
– Black marker
– Ruler
– Paint brushes
Begin by giving your ornaments a coat of paint. For the patterned ornaments, I painted them a solid color. For the grid ornaments I used white paint as the base. Once the paint is dry, come back with the black marker and add your pattern.
For the larger ornaments, I did the same thing. Some I painted a solid color and some I painted colorblocked. I used a piece of washi tape to tape off the section I didn’t want to paint on those.
I then used my ruler with the marker to add the grid lines to the blue ornament. Next, I used a gold pen to add grid lines to the pink ornament. Then, I used a coordinating paint color to add a circle to the third large ornament. Then used black paint to add “confetti” lines.
Once the ornaments were painted, I used metallic gold DecoArt paint to paint the ornament caps. Then I simply hung the larger ornaments first in an assymetrical pattern and then hung the smaller ornaments around the large ornaments to create a colorful and DIY large modern ornament gallery wall.
Finally, add in a few acrylic trees (which you can make by using DecoArt Americana acrylic paint to paint the backs of these clear acrylic trees) and a few modern wrapped gifts and your holiday gallery wall is all set to wow!
