Back in January I bought a cute heart shaped wire wreath with pom poms and tassels from Target and everytime I posted a photo of it on my wall, you all loved it and wanted to know where it was from. Now that Valentine’s day is over, I wanted to find a way to make a DIY Easter version of the pom pom tassel wire wreath. And with a trip to the hardware store, I was able to find the perfect way to do it. Just look how cute this DIY pom pom tassel Easter egg wreath is with its neon colors and pom pom sash! And so easy to make too!
Materials:
- Bendable copper wire from the hardware store
- 20 gauge jewelry wire
- Omegacryl yarn
- Hot glue
- Pom pom maker
- Scissors
I thought I had photographed the initial steps, but can’t seem to find them now. But to begin you will want to bend your copper wire into an egg shape and trim off any extra wire using wire cutters. Next, wrap the wire with one color of your yarn. This is the most difficult step. I found wrapping a few inches of the end of one side of the wire first and then sliding it up a few inches and repeating the process worked best. Once you have covered the entire wire with yarn, use the jewelry wire to secure the two ends of the egg together at the bottom.
Next, make a bunch of pom poms using the pom pom maker and tassels using your fingers or a scrap piece of cardboard.
Next, you can either use a needle and yarn to sew the pom poms together to form the garland, or you can use a hot glue gun to attach them to each other. Then glue them onto the sides of the wreath.
For the base of the wreath, tie on the tassels to the wire egg frame and hot glue the pom poms to the wire frame.
That’s it! Now your DIY pom pom tassel Easter egg wreath is ready to hang outside or anywhere you like! What colors do you want to make yours in? Pastel, all white, or a modern black and white version?

I LOVE your pom poms. I’ve made a ton but I’m not figuring how how you get the blocks of one color in a pom. Are you switching colors? Thanks so much!

Hi! Yes to get the blocks of color I wrap a small section of one color of yarn around the pom pom maker, then cut off that yarn and start wrapping with another color of yarn. You can continue to do this and add as many colored sections as you want to give the poms different multi color looks.
