DIY Family Photo Snow Globe

This post, DIY Family Photo Snow Globe, is sponsored by Canon. All opinions and ideas are 100% mine.

If you have been following me since the beginning you may remember my family portrait snow globes. They were one of the first crafts I made for the holidays and I figured they needed a little refresh in some pinks and reds along with a new family photo and a new technique for making them. Luckily I have the Canon PIXMA TS5320 Wireless All-in-One printer, so I was able to whip up a few updated snow globes with our recent family photos.

I even made one of just me, because sometimes you want to walk around in a winter wonderland by yourself. Ha!

Materials to make your own DIY Family Photo Snow Globe:

Begin by choosing a family photo or individual photo of yourself to print out for the snow globe. If you have one on a white background, that works great, but any photo that you can cut out around the people easily is best.

Load the photo paper into the printer tray and then print out the photos you chose. I love the Canon PIXMA TS5320 because it is wireless, so I can print from anywhere in my studio with my laptop and phone. Plus it prints great quality photos and complex prints for all my craft projects!

Once you have your photo printed, glue it to a piece of foam core and use a craft knife to cut out the photo.

Next it is time to assemble your snow globe. Paint the wood round the color of your choice, then hot glue the bottle brush trees, wreaths, houses, and foam core photos onto the wood round.

The final step is to fill the glass bowl with a small layer of faux snow and then add a bead of epoxy glue around the edge of the bowl. Turn the wood round upside down and press onto the lip of the bowl to adhere them together. Once the glue has cured, flip the snow globe over and shake to distribute the snow.

Having the wireless Canon PIXMA TS5320 printer on hand in my studio makes it so easy to whip up a craft like this. And let me tell you, these DIY family photo snow globes are so fun to make! In fact, I am going to go to my favorite craft store and grab a few more supplies! That way I can make a few more rainbow inspired ones with a photo of every member of my family! Because not only are these fun to make for yourself, they make the cutest gift too!

I found most of the stuff at the craft store. Hobby Lobby, Michaels, and even Joann all have lots of the supplies you need.
