Here’s a super fun idea for a last-minute Fourth of July treat with a big visual impact. I made these iconic rocket pop cookies using store-bought cookie dough. You could substitute homemade dough if that’s your preference! Go here to see the full DIY video.
Follow my instructions below for the most adorable, crowd-pleasing summer holiday cookies. You may need to make a few batches of these—they’ll go fast!
Supplies:
- Sugar cookie dough
- Extra flour
- Food coloring
- Extra sugar (optional)
- Popsicle sticks
Instructions:
Step 1: Add 1/2 cup of flour to the store-bought dough to keep the cookies from spreading. Or simply use your homemade sugar cookie dough.
Step 2: Separate your dough into three sections, coloring them red, white, and blue respectively. I didn’t add any food coloring to the “white” portion, but if you want a brighter white, definitely add some white food coloring!
Step 3: Make smaller dough balls from each color and squish them together, sticking a popsicle stick in and adding some lines so they look like the famous popsicles. Roll in sugar for an optional extra sparkle.
Step 4: Place on a baking tray and bake according to your sugar cookie recipe or the package instructions.
