These DIY felt bow coasters make the perfect cutesy addition to your home. They can also make a fun housewarming gift! If you have a cutting machine such as an xtool M1 ultra, Cricut, or silhouette, you can use that to cut out the template using a rotary blade, or you can just print on paper and cut with scissors the old fashioned way. The template features two pieces. One is for the felt bow and the other smaller piece is to cut out of sticky cork backing to help give the bow stiffness and absorption for the condensation.

You may need to tile the template to print it on 8.5″ by 11″ paper. The bow template will fit a 12″ by 12″ piece of felt. I love buying my felt from Benzie designs as they have a huge color selection and the stiffness in their felt is perfect for this project. If you go with craft store felt, I would recommend the thick version versus the flimsy cheap ones. For the cork backing I used this.
To make the DIY felt bow coasters, simply cut out the template on your felt and cork backing, fold in the two flaps to form the bow and hot glue into place, then hot glue over the top flap. The finals step is to stick on the cork backing. Hot glue may be needed to really secure the cork to the felt.
And that’s it! A quick project that looks oh so cute! Wrap a few together to give as a gift or keep them for yourself. You can always scale up the template if you would like to make a larger version, although this size is perfect for a standard coffee mug or glass.
