Begin by spray painting your pumpkin pink (or any color you like!). Once the paint is dry, use the utility knife to cut open the top of the pumpkin. If you are using faux greenery, you might be able to get away with just cutting a small opening. For a real plant, cut a 4-6″ opening in the top of the pumpkin. Fill the pumpkin with your dirt mixed with perlite (to help lighten it a bit) and then add your plant. 

The final step is to place your pumpkin the macrame plant hanger and hang it up. How cute would a large display of these hanging planters be filled with all different colors and sizes of pumpkins? I could just see them hanging up above a mantel or a credenza instead of art!
