Today’s post is just a quick reminder to think outside the box when decorating for any holiday. Just because something is in your normal decor, doesn’t mean it needs to be removed when decorating for a holiday or special occasion. Take this bat in a cage for example.

This blue orb and gold tray are a normal part of my built-ins, but when
decorating my built-ins for Halloween, I didn’t just remove the orb in lieu of a pumpkin, I thought outside the box and suspended a paper bat (from the Martha Stewart Halloween Decor line) inside the orb using fishing line.

It was super simple and quick, but really helped transform this shelf and the orb into a spooky Halloween shelf. I can’t wait to show you some of the other Halloween decor I have going up, and if you look close enough below, you might be able to catch a glimpse of some other new additions to the Halloween styled built-ins.
