As you can see here
on my dining table, I decided to go with the same blue and orange theme that I have going on in my living room. A simple fabric table runner in a turquoise blue chevron print (the fabric is from Premier Prints) was the base of my design. Then I added the center piece which is my white ceramic stag (I believe he originally came from Target). He just feels like fall to me. Next to him I added a silver pine cone, and a faux silver and white pumpkin from the Target Dollar Spot. This is the center point of my design.
Flanking the stag, pine cone, and pumpkin are two leaf bowls that I picked up at Pier 1 several years ago that are filled with a random fragrance free silver, green, and blue potpourri. The last thing you want at the dinner table is a nose full of fragrance, but the little bits and bobs really add a nice fall touch. Then come two faux grass plants from Ikea (you may notice that I use these EVERYWHERE!).
Next to the faux grass are two real pumpkins to bring in more of that fall orange color. For the place settings, I used my blue agate coasters and my DIY Rimmed champagne flutes. I love the pop of color that the glasses bring to the table.
For the plates, I used a clearance plastic plate from Target as the charger (covering up the middle design helped give this summer plate a more fall vibe with only the dark blue and yellow showing) and a plain white plate on top. For a little decoration and life, I added some goodies from my garden. Just a sprig of rosemary, a few pieces of baby chard, and a little flower. Doesn’t this simple use of edibles create such a lovely look?
So there you have my fall inspired (yet still completely colorful and full of pattern) table setting. As for my kitchen table which I mentioned, I simply filled the emerald bowl that I usually have sitting in the center of the table with more of these little pumpkins. And I am completely loving the look of the emerald and orange together!
