First off, I would like to say thank you to Joann Fabric and Craft Stores for sponsoring this post and providing me with the supplies that I used to make several of the items in this post as well as compensating me for my time and crafting abilities! I have been a loyal Joann Stores customer for 10+ years and am so excited to be working with them to create awesome crafts and ideas for you all! All ideas and opinions expressed in this post are mine alone.
Over the past few weeks I have shared several projects with you on how to make candle holders, mini succulent planters, mini marble dessert stands, polka dot plates, and even color blocked Easter egg place cards. Today I want to share with you how I put everything together to create a colorful spring table perfect for Easter brunch or a colorful spring dinner.
Doesn’t all the color just make you want to throw a party? Follow along as I show you how to re-create this look for yourself.
First up, you need your tablecloth. I decided to DIY mine using 3 yards each of
coral and
mint fabrics and 3 yards of
gold trim from Joann stores (which is regularly $6.99 per yard).
As you can see the tablecloth that I made has an asymmetrical color blocked look. To recreate this, you will want to lay your two fabrics on top of the table that you want your tablecloth to be used on, and make sure that they overlap a bit but that there is still enough over hang (about 6″) on each side. Then fold the top fabric under to create an asymmetrical seam and pin the top fabric to the bottom fabric. Now top stitch this seam and then turn the fabric over and cut away the excess fabric. Next, sew a simple fold-over hem on each of the four sides of the table cloth. Finally iron the table cloth and then use fabric glue to attach the gold trim to the asymmetrical seam for a special gold touch.
Another simple addition to this spring table is the hanging
floral chandelier. While it has major visual impact, it is really quite simple
to create. Begin by spray painting
a large wreath frame gold. Then use small rubber bands to wrap around and attach the faux flower stems to the wreath frame with the end of the stem pointing up and the flower pointing down. Use fishing line to hang the chandelier from pre-strung outdoor lighting or from your ceiling or light fixture if using indoors.
Now that you have your base, simply add your plates,
napkins, silverware, and glasses. I made these polka dot plates by using
ceramic food safe paint pens on plain white plates. How fun!
These
little bunny vases are also a DIY made from cardboard bunnies found at Joann stores. How cute!
This colorfully crafted spring table will have all your party or dinner guests ooh-ing and ahh-ing and when you tell them you made everything on it, well, they will probably hire you to come decorate their house! And there is definitely no denying that spring is here on this table.
