Drink It – A Grey and Stormy Cocktail

filed under

Happy Friday! I am so excited to share this cocktail recipe with you today in partnership with Universal Pictures Home Entertainment and the release of Fifty Shades Darker Unrated now on iTunes, and coming to Blu-ray and DVD May 9.

Goodness knows I love a good girls night. It’s one of the things that keeps me sane. Being able to hangout with friends, chat about our lives, enjoy a fun cocktail, and maybe even watch a movie together is my idea of the perfect girls night in.  Now that Fifty Shades Darker Unrated is available to own, I figured it was the perfect time to invite a few friends over for a girls night movie date complete with the perfect cocktail, a Grey and Stormy.

I created this cocktail based on one of my favorite drinks, the dark and stormy, which is dark rum, ginger beer, and lime. But since we will be watching Jamie Dornan as Christian Grey and Dakota Johnson in the second chapter of the tale that captivated the world, Fifty Shades Darker Unrated, I modified the cocktail a bit and subbed out the lime for orange and added a splash of cream for the perfect “grey” and stormy look.

See that stormy effect there?! So pretty and so tasty! So now that I have you hooked, find out the cocktail recipe below and start planning your own girls night in!

Grey and Stormy Cocktail:

  • 1 Shot of dark rum
  • 1 Tablespoon Orange juice
  • Ginger beer (this is not ginger ale, but the spicy ginger filled ginger ale you can get at any liquor store or specialty food store)
  • Splash of cream

Fill your high ball glass with ice and then pour in the orange juice and rum, fill with the ginger beer and mix well. Right before serving, add the splash of cream for the stormy look.

Now that you have the cocktail recipe, let’s talk a bit about the movie shall we? In
addition to both the original theatrical version and a the new
unrated version with over 13 minutes of footage not seen in theaters, Fifty Shades Darker Unrated Edition
comes with over 30 minutes of never-before-seen bonus content,
including cast interviews, behind-the-scenes features, and a peek at
what lies ahead in the upcoming Fifty Shades Freed. I personally could not be more excited for all the bonus scenes!

So, are you ready for your own girls night in yet?! You can find more ideas to plan your Fifty Shades Darker Girls Night In at FiftyShadesNightIn.com.
