This is yet another simple but oh so fun Halloween decoration idea. If you don’t already know, black paper bats are one of the easiest ways to decorate your home for Halloween. Just stick up a few flying out of the fireplace, or on your bookshelves, or even flying around your bathroom mirror for an instant transformation. However, as much as I love black bats, colorful bats have my heart. These DIY colorful paper bat decorations are super easy to make if you have a vinyl cutter, but you can also make them with just a good pair of scissors too. And look how adorable they are flying all over!
Now that is one classy Halloween display!
Materials for DIY Colorful paper bat decorations:
-Colorful cardstock sheets
–This bat template
-Vinyl cutter
-Scissors and pencil if you don’t have a vinyl cutter
-Removable glue dots to hang the bats
Using a vinyl cutter:
If you have a vinyl cutter, just download the template and load into the cutting program, then scale up to fit the sheet of card stock and cut out the bats from different colored card stock. Once cut, remove from the cutting mat and fold the wings up to give them dimension. Add a glue dot to the back and display where you please.
Old school method:
For those of you who don’t have a vinyl cutter, scale up the template and print it out on a piece of white card stock. Cut out the bats with scissors and use the bats as templates to trace the bat shape onto the colored card stock. Then simply cut them out with the scissors, fold up the wings, and add a glue dot to display on the wall.
See?! Simple, cute, and oh so colorful! Now these DIY colorful paper bat decorations are what I call the perfect easy Halloween craft!
