There is no use in really trying to top last years Halloween mantel. So, this year I went for a completely different look with a DIY friendly ghost garland and Halloween mantel filled with all the colors, pumpkins, ghosts, and textures. The rainbow ghost garland was a snap to put together with my vinyl cutter and looks oh so friendly and colorful strung up. I am going to share exactly how you can make your own, plus I even have a bonus ghost tutorial for you too! Yay for all the friendly ghosts!
I mean how stupid cute is this mantel?! And did you catch that ghost tassel wall hanging?! OMG!
To make the DIY Friendly Ghost Garland and Halloween Mantel:
– Cardstock in a rainbow of colors
– Cricut maker or similar vinyl cutting machine
– This ghost template
– Baker’s twine
– Tape
Begin by downloading the ghost template and load into your cuttin machine software. Then cut out the cardstock into the ghost shapes.
Peel away your ghosts and then tape them to a piece of baker’s twine. So simple!
For the ghost tassel wall hanging, I used a pair of scissors to cut out small pieces of black adhesive vinyl (electrical tape works too) and stick them to the tassels to make little ghost faces.
You can get the tutorial for this tassel wall hanging over on the A Beautiful Mess blog.
To fill out the rest of the mantel with as much color as possible, I added in the pumpkins that I painted and decorated this year. Plus the pink jack o lantern planter that I made from a candle hurricane from Joann stores.
So what do you think?! Have I given you colorful Halloween mantel fever yet?! Or do you need more spooky than cute? This DIY friendly ghost garland and halloween mantel is the perfect amount of cutesy Halloween fun for me!
