I usually don’t do kids valentine ideas here, but after a few requests, and a little wracking of my brain, I created a few super cute valentine ideas along with free printables. So expect a few fun and colorful printable valentine ideas coming your way the next week or two. These DIY cassette tape notebook valentines are the perfect easy valentine card crafts that make it look like you tried harder than you did. And that is what every mom wants right? Right?!
And of course you know I love them because they are 80’s themed! Here’s how to turn the printable I designed into the little mini notebooks.
Materials for DIY Cassette Tape Notebook Valentines:
- You’re My Jam Printable Valentine
- Cardstock (for the printable notebook covers)
- Plain white copy paper (2 sheets per valentine)
- Scissors
- Stapler
First print out the printable ont the card stock and cut out all the valentine cassette tapes. These will be the cover of the notebooks. You can print as many copies as you need to get the correct number of valentine’s for your kids class. Then use the cut out valentine card as the template to cut two sheets of plain copy paper into rectangles the same size as the valentine notebook cover.
The last step is to just staple the valentine printable cassette tape cover onto the rectangles of paper to form the notebook. So simple and so cute!
And that’s it! If you have a paper cutter, the process is obviously even easier, but plain old fashioned scissors work too. Pair the mini DIY cassette tape notebook valentines with a fun pen or pencil and your kids are ready to hand them out to all their friends.
Obviously I am obsessed with the colorful cassette tapes and the “you’re my jam” valentine message, but I think they are fun and colorful and useful enough that kids of any age will love to get them as a valentine, don’t you?!
