When life gives you lemons, make super cute DIY felt lemon drink stirrers to go with that lemonade. That’s the way the saying goes, right? Well, at least that’s the way it goes in my head! Ha. But seriously folks. These felt lemon drink stirrers are just begging to be put in an ice cold glass of lemonade. They are also really making me long for warmer weather and bright sunshine which has been lacking here recently.

Now if drink stirrers aren’t your thing, this tutorial for felt lemons can be used to make place cards for a sunny garden party or citrus themed wedding. Or maybe a last minute valentine by turning them into keychains with the phrase pucker up. Whatever you use them for, they are simple to make and quite frankly, adorable AF.

Materials to make DIY Felt Lemon Drink Stirrers:

– 2 cm yellow felt balls
– Acrylic drink stirrers
– Green floral wire
– Green Felt sheet
– Scissors
– Hot glue

To give the felt balls a lemon shape, simply roll the ball firmly back and forth between your palms. As you press and roll the felt ball, it will start to take on an oblong shape. Then just pinch the ends a bit to really get that lemon shape.

Once you have the lemon shape, cut out a tiny leaf from the green felt. Next, cut a small hole in one end of the lemon felt ball and glue in the green floral wire.   Then glue the leaf onto the stem and cut the stem to appx. 1/2″ long.

The final step is to use the hot glue to attach the lemons to the drink stirrers. And voila! DIY Felt Lemon Drink Stirrers! Almost instant party decor. This technique could also be used to make oranges (no rolling required), or limes, or any citrus really. Now who else is ready for warm weather and cold lemonade out in the sunshine?!
