This post, DIY Colorful Gingerbread House Advent Calendar, is sponsored by How Life Unfolds. Thank you for supporting the brands and organizations that keep me crafting all day long!
Today I wanted to share this simple idea for a rainbow of colorful gingerbread houses turned into a DIY Colorful Gingerbread House Advent Calendar with you. Using white paper bags, just paint them any colors you choose, then use a white paint pen or chalk pen to draw on doors, windows, and snow. Add some number stickers to the doors for each day of the month. Then simply fill the paper bags with treats or holiday activities and string them up with mini clothespins and twine. Each day as your kids count down to Christmas, they can open the bag coordinating with that day of the month.
Not only are they fun for kids to open, but they serve as pretty cute holiday decor too! And if you are careful with the bags, they can be used year after year! I love when I can use paper products I already have around the house to create fun new crafts. And holiday crafts are definitely some of my favorite to make!
What ways do you use paper products in your crafting? Let me know in the comments below! I’d love to hear your ideas.

what size bags did you use? what items did yo put in them, and did tape or staple close? They look so small & flat in the picture I can’t imagine what you were able to put inside.

They aren’t filled in the photo. But you can fill with stickers, daily activities, or little suprises, I would say use what ever size bag fits what you want to fill them with. I tend to do more daily activities for my advent like today we will bake cookies! And just write those on notes to put in the advent.
