In last few weeks off I have been playing around with my Glowforge again to create a few new things. This DIY giant geometric wall hanging was one of the new projects I thought up. I am really obsessed with the organic geometric clay and acrylic jewelry that is trending right now. And you know how I love to interpret trends into home decor! So I cut out giant geometric pieces from plywood and gave them a painted makeover to make this wall hanging.
Whats even more fun is that I painted the back side other colors, so I can easily flip the wall hanging over to display the other side for a whole different look.
The process to make your own is really simple, because I am going to do the hard work of cutting out the shapes for you! So then all you need to do is choose your colors and paint the wood pieces (or leave them unpainted for a more natural look).
Materials to make your own DIY Giant Geometric Wall Hanging:
- Geometric Wall Hanging Kit
- Acrylic craft paint
- Hot glue or leather glue
- Paint brushes
If you choose to paint your pieces, do that first. Then when the paint is dry, paint the back side. Next, thread the leather strips that come in the wall haninging kit through the holes and connect the pieces. Use leather glue or hot glue to secure the leather to itself to create a loop. Repeat to connect all three pieces. Then add the final leather strip at the top to create a loop to hang your pieces.
There are so many options with this wall hanging kit. You can choose the pretty maple or walnut wood and then just paint on abstract details or stripes to let the wood show through, or keep one piece all wood. The choices are endless and you can completely customize the piece to fit your home!
